Stumptown Coffee Roasters buys their coffee from small, family farms on a Direct Trade basis that pays the farmers 2 - 4 times more than the Fair Trade price. They build these relationships with source trips, business conversations. Both parties become educated and friendships develop. These relationships give the farmers an opportunity to command better prices, which allows them to take care of their families, invest in their farms and realize the possibilities in the coffee growing business. Stumptown’s commitment to these farms is a promise to you to provide the freshest, most unique locally roasted coffees.

Portland Roasting Coffee is dedicated to long term relationships with farmers who are committed to stewardship of the land. They established the Farm Friendly Direct program with farmers to pay above market prices for green beans with the additional premiums to finance community assistance projects such as tree planting, constructing water treatment facilities and community centers, building schools and funding teacher’s salaries. Portland Roasting is also a certified Recycle@Works Business.
